How the tools calculate
Independent, non-governmental site
Every calculator runs in your browser: what you type is neither sent nor stored. They apply the consolidated texts in the Spanish Official Gazette (BOE) and the calls published in the regional gazettes. Last reading of the national rules: 26 October 2026; of the regional calls: 26 October 2026.
The three aids and their articles
Bono Alquiler Joven: Royal Decree 42/2022, articles 6 (requirements), 8 (rent cap of €600, or €900 by agreement), 10 (incompatibilities), 11 (€250 a month) and 12 (24 months). Plan youth aid: Royal Decree 326/2026, articles 133 to 137 (€300 capped at 60% of the rent). General aid: articles 116 to 120 (€250, up to 40% with dependants). When you meet several, the calculator shows the highest, because they do not stack.
Income and the IPREM
The 2026 IPREM is the one in the 90th additional provision of Law 31/2022, still in force under the rolled-over budget: €600 a month and €8,400 a year over 14 payments, the basis both royal decrees use. Your income is divided by that figure. For the Bono and the general aid we add up household income, except when you rent a room; for the youth aid, only yours, as articles 6.1.d of RD 42/2022 and 133.1.d of RD 326/2026 say.
The regional calls
Each region's status (open, closed or no call published), dates and rent caps are read in its official gazette, on its e-government site and in the National Grants Database. Every row links to its source and carries the reading date. When a call sets a rent cap different from the general one, the calculator uses the call's figure. We never invent dates: when a region has published nothing, we say so.
Tax
How the aid is taxed follows the Spanish Tax Agency income tax manual: a capital gain in the general base, with no withholding. The duty to file applies article 96 of the Income Tax Act. The national rent deduction is article 68.6, added by Royal Decree-law 29/2026 in force since 8 October 2026; until Congress validates it, every result says so.
Tests
Each rule has hand-written automated tests drawn from the text: the age limit of 35 inclusive, a rent one euro over the cap, a room where only your income counts, 60% of a 400 euro rent, the tapering band of the deduction. The site is not published if a test fails.
Limits
The calculators do not know your file. Each call may add conditions (prior registration, minimum income, zones with other caps, first come first served or scoring) and the region decides when it resolves. Regional schemes and those of the Basque Country and Navarre are described, but detailed maths covers the national aids only.
Updates
We reread the BOE and the regional gazettes regularly and by hand: nothing updates automatically. If you spot a mistake, write to us from the contact page; how we fix it is in the editorial policy.
