In the Balearic Islands the Bono Alquiler Joven is called Bo Lloguer Jove, and its latest call, covering 2026 and 2027, was approved by Order 14/2026 of 2 June, published in BOIB no. 83 of 2 July 2026. Applications ran from 1 to 30 September 2026 and are now closed. The regional government agreed with the Ministry the highest rent cap the royal decree allows: 900 euros for a flat and 450 for a room, because island prices sit far above the national average. The aid is the national one, 250 euros a month for 24 months, for people under 36 with 2025 household income up to 3 times the IPREM. The budget is 4.8 million euros split between 2026 and 2027. The youth aid and the general aid of the 2026-2030 State Plan have no Balearic call yet, although the State allocated 19.2 million euros to the islands for 2026.

The highest cap, the shortest window

Order 14/2026 combined rules and call in a single text and opened applications 1 September 2026 to 30 September 2026, unless the money ran out first. That one-month window lets the regional government decide in one go and pay the 2026 and 2027 months from a budget of 4.8 million, half for each year. If you applied, you follow your file on the Bo Lloguer Jove website, which publishes the lists and requests for documents.

The most useful feature of the Balearic case is the rent cap: €900 for a flat and €450 for a room, the maximum in article 8 of Royal Decree 42/2022. According to the La Moncloa note of October 2024, the islands were already among the regions that agreed that increase with the Ministry. Even so, in Palma or Ibiza many rents exceed 900 euros and shut out people who meet every other rule. Check your lease before applying next time: parking and storage do not count towards the cap if the contract prices them separately.

How much the aid covers on the islands

The Bono pays a fixed €250 a month, which on a €900 rent covers a little under a third. If you share a flat and rent a room, the share improves. Compare the three aids against your real rent:

What is still to be opened

The youth aid of the 2026-2030 State Plan, up to €300 a month, has a general rent cap of €1,000, which the region can raise with Ministry approval. The Sector Conference allocated 19.2 million euros to the Balearic Islands for 2026, but there is no call for that aid or the general one. The regional government's 2025 rent aid has closed. For buying in a small town, Annex IV of the Plan sets the Balearic maximum price at €275,000.

Common questions

Which income counted for the Balearic Bo Lloguer Jove in September 2026?

Income for 2025, the last closed tax year. Everyone living in the flat counts, unless you rent a room, in which case only yours does. The limit is 3 times the 14-payment IPREM, 25,200 euros a year. The regional department checks it against Spanish Tax Agency data.

Does the Balearic Bo Lloguer Jove work for an €850 rent in Palma?

Yes, as long as you meet the other rules. The regional government agreed with the Ministry to raise the cap to 900 euros for a flat and 450 for a room across the islands. On 850 euros you would receive the Bono's 250 euros a month. Above 900 euros you are out, with no exception, even if everything else fits.

Is there any other rent aid in the Balearic Islands this year?

The 2025 general rent aid, with 16.45 million euros and applications from 14 November to 15 December 2025, is closed and was funded by the previous national plan. No 2026 call has appeared. The 2026-2030 Plan aids will come when the regional government publishes its rules in the BOIB.
