Castile and León is the region that has opened the Bono Alquiler Joven the fewest times: a single call, published in BOCYL no. 146 of 29 July 2022, with applications from 1 September to 30 November 2022. The regional government has not opened another window since. In March 2025 it raised the funding of that call from 21.6 to 32.4 million euros to pay more of the 2022 applicants, but it accepted no new applications. The rent cap is the general one, 600 euros for a flat and 300 for a room. The other route was the regional rent subsidy call of October 2025, awarded competitively, with applications from 1 December 2025 to 30 January 2026 and funding raised in July 2026 to almost 54 million. It is now closed. The 2026-2030 State Plan aids have no call in Castile and León yet. The calculator shows what each scheme would pay you.
A 2022 call that is still paying
The order published in BOCYL no. 146 of 29 July 2022 opened the Bono 1 September 2022 to 30 November 2022. That call had 21.6 million euros and fell short. Rather than open another one, the region chose in March 2025 to raise the budget to 32.4 million to pay eligible applicants who were waiting. This use of national Bono money leaves out anyone who turned 18 or started renting after 2022. The procedure record remains in the National Grants Database.
The rules were those of Royal Decree 42/2022: €250 a month for 24 months, age up to 35, income up to 3 times the IPREM and a maximum rent of €600 for a flat. In a region whose provincial capitals have moderate rents, that cap covers a good share of leases. In Valladolid, Salamanca or León, a one-bedroom flat often fits under 600 euros, and a room in a shared student flat fits more easily still under the 300 euro room cap. The problem in this region has never been the cap but the lack of a new window.
The 2025 regional rent aid
The October 2025 rent subsidies were the region's broadest aid, with no age limit and funded by the previous national plan. Applications closed on 30 January 2026 and the July 2026 increase took the budget to 53,936,579.13 euros. If you applied, payment depends on your score in the decision.
