In Extremadura the 2026-2027 Bono Alquiler Joven was called by a Resolution of 17 June 2026, published in DOE no. 126 on 2 July, with a planned three-month window from 15 July. It did not last that long: the regional government closed it until 28 August 2026 because the 6 million euros were used up, after 1,915 applications according to the region itself, and the closure was published in DOE no. 167. The rent cap is the general Bono one, 600 euros for a flat and 300 for a room, since Extremadura did not ask to raise it. One local twist: the income limit of 3 times the IPREM rises to 3.5 times when two young beneficiaries live together and to 4 times with three or more. The rules come from Decree 165/2024 and months from 1 January 2025 could be covered. There is no Extremadura call yet under the 2026-2030 State Plan.
A six-week window
The Extremadura call appeared in DOE no. 126 of 2 July 2026 and opened on 15 July. It was meant to last three months, until mid-October, but awards went in order until funds ran out and the money was gone by late August. Several regions follow the same pattern: the official window means little, what matters is applying in the first days with every document ready. The procedure and its status are on the Junta de Extremadura page.
Extremadura's Bono rules
The rules sit in Decree 165/2024 and follow Royal Decree 42/2022: up to 35 years old, €250 a month for 24 months and a rent of up to €600, or €300 for a room. Extremadura is not among the regions that agreed with the Ministry to raise the cap to 900 euros, so a 650 euro flat in Badajoz or Cáceres falls outside.
The most distinctive feature is the income limit for shared flats. If two young people sign the lease together and both claim the Bono, the household may reach 3.5 times the IPREM; with three or more, 4 times. Article 6.1.d of the royal decree allows this when the monitoring committee agrees, and Extremadura used it. Check your figure:

What you can do now
There is no open window for the Bono and no call under the 2026-2030 State Plan: we found none in the DOE or in the National Grants Database. Meanwhile, keep your padrón registration, a lease with a clear rent and your employment record up to date, because the next call may fill up within weeks again. If you are over 35, the Plan general aid will be the one for you once it is called.
For anyone thinking of buying in a village, Annex IV of Royal Decree 326/2026 gives Extremadura the lowest price ceiling of any region, €200,000, and the aid can reach €15,000. Details are on the youth home purchase aid page.
