Melilla called the 2025/2026 Bono Alquiler Joven by Order no. 0699 of 28 March 2025, published in the extraordinary BOME no. 22 on 2 April 2025. The window ran continuously 3 April 2025 to 30 September 2025, unless the 400,000 euro budget ran out first, and we found no later call. The rules are the national ones: up to 35 years old, household income up to 3 times the IPREM, 250 euros a month for 24 months and a rent of up to 600 euros, or 300 for a room, since Melilla did not ask to raise the cap as Ceuta did. The city also runs its own private rent subsidy: the 2026 edition was called in June with a fifteen-working-day window, for rents up to 750 euros and an aid that covers the gap between the rent and a share of your income. There is no Melilla call yet under the 2026-2030 State Plan.
The Bono in Melilla: a long window that has ended
The autonomous city published its call order in extraordinary BOME no. 22 and kept the window open for almost six months, from April to the end of September 2025. It was a small call, 400,000 euros, in line with the size of the city, handled by the Housing Directorate. No other call has appeared since. The rent cap is the general one in Royal Decree 42/2022: €600 for a flat and €300 for a room. Ceuta did get the 900 euro cap from the Ministry; Melilla is not among the cities and regions that agreed it.
The city's own aid
The 2026 private rent subsidy was approved by the Governing Council on 5 June 2026 and published in extraordinary BOME no. 23 on 10 June. The window was fifteen working days from the next day, so it closed in early July; the exact end date was not published. It works differently from the national aid: instead of a fixed amount, it pays what is needed so the rent does not exceed a share of your income, up to 300 to 425 euros a month. It applies to rents up to 750 euros, or 850 for large families in flats with three bedrooms or more.
What to get ready
Both aids ask for the same basics: a lease in your name, padrón registration at the address, proof of payment and your latest tax return. Having everything ready is what helps most when a window lasts only two or three weeks and is announced with little notice.
The 2026-2030 State Plan has no call in Melilla yet. When it does, the youth aid can help people without three months of employment record, which the Bono requires. Dates for every region are in the calls calendar.
