Catalonia is the region that has moved furthest in 2026. In March it opened the Bono Alquiler Joven under Resolution TER/567/2026, published in DOGC no. 9617 of 4 March, with a window of only five days, 9 to 13 March, and rent caps by zone: 900 euros in the Barcelona metropolitan area and 600 in Lleida and the Terres de l'Ebre. In June it became the first region in Spain to open the youth aid of the 2026-2030 State Plan, under Resolution TER/1990/2026 in DOGC no. 9691 of 22 June: applications from 29 June to 10 July 2026, ranked by score, and up to 250 euros a month per person for two years, with total aid on one home capped at 60% of the rent. Both are closed. The regional aids for people aged 36 to 64 and 65 or over also closed in spring. The general Plan aid has no Catalan call yet.
A five-day Bono with a zone map
Resolution TER/567/2026 opened the Bono 9 March 2026 to 13 March 2026, one of the shortest windows in Spain, with 29 million euros. Catalonia did not use a single cap: it scaled it by zone, from €900 in the Barcelona metropolitan area down to €600 in Lleida and the Terres de l'Ebre. The amount was that of Royal Decree 42/2022, €250 a month for 24 months. The Catalan Housing Agency publishes the decisions.
The first youth aid of the new Plan
Resolution TER/1990/2026 opened the youth aid of Royal Decree 326/2026 29 June 2026 to 10 July 2026, with 26.8 million euros awarded competitively. Applicants had to be 35 or under on 31 January 2026, with household income up to 36,279.32 euros in 2024. The maximum rent was €1,000 in the metropolitan area, 750 in the rest of Barcelona and Girona, 700 in Tarragona and 600 in Lleida and Terres de l'Ebre, with more room for large, single-parent or disability households. The amount, up to 250 euros per person, is split so that the whole home never receives more than 60% of the rent. If two young people share an 800 euro flat, their two aids together cannot exceed 480 euros.
The aid for people aged 36 to 64 and the aid for people aged 65 or over closed in April and May. Check with your own figures which national aid suits you best:

What remains
The State allocated 116 million euros to Catalonia for 2026, most of it not yet opened: the general Plan aid is still pending. For youth purchases in small towns, Annex IV sets the Catalan maximum price at €300,000. If you missed both youth calls, keep your lease, rent receipts paid by bank transfer and your latest tax return ready: Catalan windows are short, five working days for the Bono and two weeks for the youth aid.
